You're an art connoisseur bidding for the hottest works of art, curating an exquisitely decorated art gallery that will be the envy of the local art scene. But fads and trends are fleeting and difficult to predict. The paintings you and your fellow collectors don't buy will end up in the museum, changing the value of your collection. Who will have the best art gallery in the city?

Designed by Mitch Wallace, Art Society allows for groups of 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, lasting approximately 45 minutes. The goal of the game is to score the most points by collecting paintings (obtained through an auction mechanism) and decorations on your personal board. However, the value of the paintings will change throughout the game, depending on the players' actions. Adapting each round will be key to winning!

The paintings in Art Society are divided into four distinct categories, each of which changes in value based on the outcome of the auctions held each turn. During the auctions, players bid to win paintings for their art gallery, and the remaining artwork goes to the museum, increasing its value for everyone. In addition to a specific type, paintings come in different sizes and frames, which can affect the space they take up in each player's personal art gallery.

Each turn, players must carefully consider where they place their new artwork to maximize their score. If at any point a painting cannot be placed due to lack of space, it is considered surplus and will result in a penalty at the end of the game. However, each player has an assistant who can hold a painting; it's always helpful to have help! At the end of the game, depending on the prestige of each group of paintings, more or less points are added. Additionally, if you have valuable paintings in the center of the board, you get bonus points. Unleash your inner art collector!
